I showed Oppenheimer to a filmmaker recently who said it’s kind of a horror movie. “ It is an intense experience, because it’s an intense story. But the love of the characters, the love of the relationships, is as strong as I’ve ever done.” I mean, there’s an element of fear that’s there in the history and there in the underpinnings. “ Some people leave the movie absolutely devastated,” Nolan tells the outlet. Sounds pretty intense, yeah? Well according to Nolan himself in a new chat with Wired, it’s “kind of a horror movie.” Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, this summer’s Oppenheimer is an IMAX®-shot epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it. Here’s hoping we someday get to actually see this deleted scene in full! It’s clear from looking at the photos that the Man in the Mask comes up behind the doctor and kills him in this ending, and we can only assume he then enters Kinsey’s room to kill her too. Presumably, based on the photos, it was to be the doctor who knocked at the door, with the Man in the Mask not far behind. Images shared by actor William Willet highlight this never-before-seen alternate sequence, wherein Willet played a doctor. Kinsey screams in terror.īut there was another alternate ending shot for The Strangers: Prey at Night that we haven’t yet seen. The suggestion, of course, is that the Man in the Mask is still alive. There’s nobody there, but the hallway lights begin to shut off one by one, and you can hear an ax dragging across the floor in the darkness. Kinsey is startled by a knock at the door, and we never do find out who is on the other side.Īn alternate ending included with the home video release is a bit different, as Kinsey opens the door and looks out into the hallway. In the final moments of The Strangers: Prey at Night, we catch up with survivors Kinsey and Luke at the hospital some time after Kinsey seemed to kill off the Man in the Mask, but one final little stinger suggests that the masked maniac may not be dead after all.
